The Santoku knife

Santoku has a pretty cool meaning, it means ''3 virtues'' in Japanese. This means that there are 3 main functions: slicing, mincing and chiseling. A bit like a chef's knife, isn't it? It allows you to cut fruits, vegetables, meat (without bones), fish (without bones) and herbs. The main difference with the chef's knife is its shape, the size of the blade is smaller, it will cut smaller foods. But its maneuverability makes it a very popular knife in Japan and around the world.
